Product description
What can you do when your dog pees indoors? Is your dog marking your new sofa? Do you have to constantly watch your dog’s every move when visiting friends?
That sounds pretty stressful! A male dog belt is needed when a male dog marks furniture, curtains, rugs, etc. This can lead to both financial and hygiene-related problems, not to mention the emotional distress it causes. The male dog belt is a belt-style, easy-to-put-on protective garment. Most dogs stop marking when wearing the male dog belt once they realize they can’t mark.
Male belts are made of breathable yet water-repellent material, featuring an absorbent microfiber lining and a mesh fabric with a pocket for additional padding. The elastic waistband on the protector conforms to the dog’s movements. The materials are soft and as comfortable as possible for the dog to wear.
What is the male belt used for?
- for house-training puppies
- for male dogs that mark indoors
- when visiting, e.g., a female dog in heat
- when traveling by car, train, or boat, and when staying at a hotel
- for urinary incontinence, e.g., in older dogs
Instructions:
- The male belt is fastened with Velcro on the back
- The fit can be adjusted
- Remember to remove the belt from the dog when taking it outside
- Consider using multiple belts for hygiene reasons => a so-called washing rotation
Washing instructions:
- Wash in water at 30 degrees Celsius
- Fabric softener is not recommended
- Bleach is not recommended
- Tumble drying is not recommended
What might cause indoor urination/marking?
- A medical issue, e.g., incontinence
- Inadequate house-training
- Excessive hormonal activity and/or a female dog in heat nearby
- separation anxiety, where the dog only relieves itself indoors when left alone
- dominance issues, where the dog is marking its territory
- the dog’s mealtimes may conflict with outdoor exercise times
- infrequent walks, e.g., for a dog still learning house training
Note: If you have even the slightest suspicion that urination may be due to health issues, such as a bladder infection or prostate problems, take your dog to the vet for a checkup. Also monitor their water intake. Your dog may also mark as a form of protest.
Proper size:
- Measure your dog’s waist circumference
- Select the appropriate size from the table below
- The male harness can be adjusted to fit with the Velcro fastener
- The male harness should fit snugly
