The pitch of the whistle can be adjusted by turning the whistle to open or close it further. The pitch is locked in place with a screw. "More open" is better suited for working at a distance due to the lower frequency, and "more closed" is better for close-range work. You can adjust the sound yourself to suit you and your dog. The plug part of the whistle is attached to the mouthpiece with a chain. NOTE! The whistle cord is not included; it must be ordered separately!
