The flip-up cap locks into three different positions:

• Straight up. You can fill in ballistic data on the included card (dope disk) inside the flip cap. That way, you’ll have it in view at all times while in the firing position.
• 45°
• 180° the cover folds parallel to the barrel and stays locked in place. This ensures it doesn’t obstruct your view in any direction.
  
  A handy size chart! For example, if you own a 3-12x56 scope, your choice is E-10 and 56; if you own a 1-6x24 scope, your choice is E-10 and 24. Works with almost all models. If you’re unsure, measure the outer diameter and check the table to see which one fits your scope. Simplicity is beautiful, a bit like Alvar Aalto’s designs!
  
  The E-10 is primarily intended for eyepieces (the eyepiece side). The E-10 size is 41–46 mm, which fits almost all eyepieces. For older tubes and, for example, Leupold models, size 32 (38–41 mm) is suitable
