Product description
Diana forage kale is used as a palatable forage crop for deer and hares. The variety produces strong, flavorful foliage and a succulent, thick stem. Growth height depends on soil condition and nutrient levels
60–100 cm. It withstands frost well and continues to grow in the fall as long as there is sufficient daytime warmth. It requires well-maintained soil and sufficient nitrogen to grow. We recommend monitoring for aphids in the crop. If the weather is warm and favorable, aphids should be destroyed on a sunny evening.
Caledonian fodder kale is a new variety bred in Scotland for livestock feed that is resistant to clubroot. The variety has large leaves and a thick, succulent, very tasty stem, which is invariably eaten right down to the ground. Old, unimproved varieties usually remain standing dry in the winter like ski poles.
