Haix Waterproof Spray

Haix Waterproof Spray is a CFC-free, chemically approved waterproof spray. Haix Waterproof Spray is suitable for protecting leather and textiles from water, dirt, oil, and grease.

When you buy new shoes, you should treat them with a waterproofing spray right away. The waterproofing agent creates a film on the surface of the leather or fabric, which reduces water absorption into the shoe material and protects them from dirt!

Even if the shoe has a Gore-Tex membrane, this is still recommended because the membrane is located on the outside of the shoe’s inner lining, so the outer material will absorb water if it isn’t treated with a spray.

For shoes in active use, it is recommended to reapply the treatment approximately every 8 weeks and whenever the shoes have become completely soaked.

Spray the shoes generously with the waterproofing agent and allow it to absorb for about 15 minutes, after which the treatment should be repeated. The waterproofing treatment must be allowed to absorb and dry thoroughly into the shoes before use.

How to waterproof shoes correctly?

Although HAIX shoes are pre-waterproofed, we recommend that you waterproof them regularly to extend their overall lifespan.

First, clean the shoes with a brush or remove stubborn dirt with a mild, lukewarm soapy solution before re-treating them.

Apply the spray generously to the leather from a distance of about 30 cm so that the shoe "absorbs" the impregnating agent, allowing the conditioning agents to penetrate the leather.

Let the spray work for about 15 minutes before starting the next treatment; this can be repeated up to 3 times.

How often should I condition my shoes?

If you wear your shoes regularly, treating them every four to eight weeks is sufficient.

You should also re-condition them if the shoes have gotten wet.

How long should I wait after conditioning?

Let your shoes rest for about 24 hours after waterproofing so that the treatment can take effect.

What are the benefits of waterproofing?

Waterproofing acts as a protective layer that prevents moisture or dirt from getting inside the shoe. In addition, the HAIX waterproofing material conditions the leather of your shoes.

Why do I need to waterproof GORE-TEX shoes?

The GORE-TEX membrane is located beneath the outer material and prevents moisture from penetrating the inside of the shoe.

A waterproof spray also makes the outer layer waterproof and dirt-repellent.
